I received a new BIOS Version (V 1.72 from Fujitsu-Siemens Support)
Now it boots from USB Stick and from Compact Flash Card (CF-Card) but with some limitations:
The Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo T (with an OEM Mainboard MSI 7058) doesn't boot from USB Stick.
If you connect an USB stick (no matter what USB port) you cannot select it as a Boot Device (see 104.jpg)
That's because the built in Card-Reader "blocks" all the 4 available places in the Boot options dialog with USB: Generic STORAGE DEVICE
If you disconnect the card-reader the USB stick shows up. (see 118.jpg)
So, that's clearly a bug in the BIOS.
But, even if you disconnect the card-reader and select the USB stick as a boot device the machine will not boot from the USB stick (see boot-scaleo.AVI)
I tested this with 2 different USB sticks.
They boot 2 of my machines (DELL Notebook and a PC with ASUS Mainboard) just fine (see boot-notebook.AVI) but they cannot boot the Scaleo T.
That's clearly another Bug in the BIOS.
Fujitsu-Siemens Computers (FSC) offers two BIOS version for public download (see below) but neither version let's you boot from USB stick.
